Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Your privacy is our top priority. PasswordMonkey is designed from the ground up to be completely private and secure.
No Data Storage or Transmission
All password generation happens locally in your browser on your device. We do not store, log, or transmit any passwords you create. When you refresh or close the page, the generated password is gone forever unless you have copied it elsewhere.
Local Preferences and Third-Party Services
PasswordMonkey stores only your light or dark mode preference in your browser's localStorage. This preference does not identify you. The site may use hosting, fonts, advertising, analytics, or other third-party services. Those providers may process technical information such as an IP address or browser information under their own privacy policies.
Facebook and Meta Integration
PasswordMonkey uses Meta's Graph API to publish links to newly discovered PasswordMonkey news articles on the official PasswordMonkey Facebook Page. This is an administrative publishing workflow; the website does not ask visitors to sign in with Facebook and does not collect Facebook login credentials, profile information, friends, messages, or other personal Facebook data.
The Page access token used by the publishing workflow is stored as an encrypted GitHub Actions secret and is not published in the repository or intentionally written to workflow logs. The workflow stores only operational records such as an article URL, publication status, and Meta post ID so that it does not repost the same article. PasswordMonkey does not sell this information or use it for advertising profiles.
Data Retention and Deletion
We do not retain generated passwords or personal Facebook user data. If you believe the PasswordMonkey app has received personal information or you have a privacy question, contact us through the PasswordMonkey Facebook Page. We will review the request and delete information that we control when applicable.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when the website or publishing workflow changes. The current version is always available at passwordmonkey.org/privacy. For Meta's privacy information, see the Meta Privacy Policy.
